Nachash נָחָשׁ, 2020, acrylic, mixed media (cellophane) on canvas 10 x 20 inches

$455.00

Nachash is the serpent (translated from the Hebrew נָחָשׁ), "the observing and piercingly gazed creature.") It is our original nemesis. He is deceiving and pushes us on the Sisyphean path of carrying the original sin. I assume that the Creator made Nachash for a purpose. My work explores that possible purpose: the emergence of the free will. The sagacious pest hiding odiously under a serene surface emerges into sight as a bright gate to opportunities and options. He springs into our realm as the portal's key to freedom of choice, be it good or sinful. That gives humans a lot of power and unimaginable responsibilities.
