Apparition , 2020, acrylic, mixed media on canvas, two pannels, 12 x 24 inches, unframed each

$550.00

Painting: Acrylic on Canvas.

I use cellophane applied on thick gessoed canvas. The superficial tension allows my hands to glide over the surface. I attribute the final version to the subconscious mind that guides my hands and knows when I reached the creative road's end for this particular piece. I let it dry and then harden the surface in its final form with a gloss fluid medium. I paint the surface with a minimum amount of colors: pink and camel beige in this case. This piece unfolds on two panels, emphasizing the ambiguous character of the "Apparition." Is it a flamingo? Is it a pink camel? Is it a serpent? The whole "Pink Trespassing" series explores the power of this unique color. I suggest the love in this piece: wrinkled, judged, tested, and often reborn and reinvented. The background is camel-beige, a neutral color like the indifferent world surrounding the intimacy of the couple.
