Love in the Time of Corona-The unfolding story of the 2020 pandemic.
COVIT 19 impacted all of us.
Since socially -distanced from my fellow humans, I started a series of acrylic paintings dedicated to these trying times. At least for a while, I abandoned my left-brain work method. The new creations are visceral, emotional, and direct. Why? Fear is the word summarizing this deep, unfiltered feeling. It does not primarily concern the disease. It's the anguish of not having any clear understanding of how the current state of affairs came to be but fully envisioning its long-lasting consequences. The reptilian brain grasps the paradox: elusive present with an unambiguously dangerous outcome.
I posted some of the work. I will continue for as long as the twilight vibes persist.
10/31/2020 Just spoke to friends in Europe. They are under "lockdown" again. Depression, poverty, and desperation loom at the gates of the "Old Country." Thus, this series will continue.
12/21/2020 A friend called: London mass exodus not seen since "The Blitz." Aren't people going to be infected in the crammed trains? Who knows? I don't have answers, but I try to document by adding to the series. That's all I can do.
